About Chkobba (شكبّة)

Chkobba is the card game you find in every Tunisian café. It's played with 40 cards, the Ace to the 7 and three figures (Dame 8, Valet 9, Roi 10), 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 with partners opposite. Four cards lie face-up on the table and each player holds three. On your turn you play a card to capture a table card of the same value, or several cards that add up to it; if a card of the same value is there, you must take it.

Clear the whole table and you score a chkobba, worth a point on its own. At the end of each deal, points go to the team with the most cards (el karta), the most diamonds (dinari), the 7 of diamonds (el 7aya) and the most sevens (barmila). The first team to 21 (or 11) wins.
