Rami is the Tunisian rummy, the long card game of family evenings. It's played by 2 to 4 players with two decks and four jokers. Everyone gets 14 cards (the first player 15) and tries to lay their hand down in melds: sets of three or four cards of the same rank, and runs of three or more cards in a row in one suit. A joker can replace any card, one per meld.
Your first lay-down must be worth at least 71 points (or 51, depending on the table). You may take the top discard only to use it at once. When a player goes out, the others count the cards left in their hands as penalty points: figures 10, aces 1, jokers 50, and 100 for a player who never opened. A player who passes 700 points is out, and the last one left wins.
